‘ Heal the world with Bonsai ’

This project was initiated in late 2023, inspired by the strong alignment between the mission of UNICEF Aotearoa and the philosophy behind Steven’s bonsai work. Much of his practice involves collecting & rescuing unwanted tree stumps and transforming them into living works of art through the form of Bonsai & Penjing.

For Steven, this process reflects the same principle behind UNICEF’s work, the belief in second chances. Just as a neglected tree can be revived & shaped into something meaningful, every child deserves the opportunity, care, and support needed to grow and reach their full potential 🌱
